The Verbal Tec aka Cedric Hardy, Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland but currently residing in Philadelphia Pennsylvania during the early 2000s, the Verbal Tec is an MC/Producer, who has been putting in work and paying dues in the Independent hip-hop scene since 2000. An MC who focuses more on content and lyrical prowess, the Verbal Tec seeks to balance the trends of the hip-hop/rap genre currently pervading society’s mainstream. As a member of hip-hop duo Parts of Speech, Verbal Tec has been able to reach listener’s by performing in various locations throughout the East Coast and Midwest with the likes of the Beatnuts, Non-Phixion, Immortal Technique, Wordsworth, and RJD2 to name a few.

In 2002, Verbal Tec released his highly anticipated debut solo project “Nsult 2 Njury.” Produced by DJ Man-E responsible for the first two album of Lost Children of Babylon from Philadelphia, After being courted by several labels who chose to renege on promises, Tec decided that the independent route was best suited for him and the project. Since recently graduating from Temple University in the fall of 2003 with a double major in African American Studies and Communications, Verbal Tec has now began to focus on his second project tentatively titled ” No One Cares Ignorance Is Bliss.”

After a strong showing at the 2004 SlamBush.net national rhyme competition finals in Miami performing alongside The Roots, Tec was also asked to be included on the official mixtape released by the SlamBush organization in conjunction with California based record label Hard Knock Records. The mixtape features material by Wordsworth, Immortal Technique, Mos Def, Jadakiss, Mr. Lif and Wyclef. The song entitled “Dear Mr. President,” by Verbal Tec is the first track that starts off the official SlamBush mixtape. With more of a political tone, and some well-known featured producers and guest spots, “No One Cares” hopefully will be the project that gets the Verbal Tec to the next level.
