Trophy Wife is a short but sweet album from former Soundcloud rapper Vel The Wonder, one of the finest female voices in Hip Hop today. Los Angeles area based Vel The Wonder has a strong vocal presence, with a soothingly monotonous flow – reminiscent in a way of Bahamadia. Trophy Wife is produced in its entirety by Chase Moore, a producer based out of Los Angeles who has produced for the likes of Slug of Atmosphere, Royce Da 5’9′, Raekwon, Freeway, Smoke DZA, The Jacka, Brotha Lynch, Rock, Sean Price, and others – and the 90s-centric instrumentals he crafted for Trophy Wife go well with Vel’s consistent delivery.
