‘Evolutionary Minded’ is a collective celebration expanding upon the legendary Gil Scott-Heron’s music, produced By Kentyah Fraser with Scott-Heron’s regular collaborator Brian Jackson. Featuring Gregory Porter, M1 (Dead Prez), Chuck D (Public Enemy), Martin Luther (The Roots), Mike Clark (Head Hunters), Airto and core members of Gil Scott-Heron’s Amnesia Express and Midnight Band.

The seminal music made by Gil Scott Heron, Brian Jackson and The Midnight Band was the prototype of socially conscious hip hop. Respected around the world they continue to inspire with their music and message. This project is a powerful expression of that influence, featuring covers and reinterpretations that update and expand the music – mixing hip hop, soul, funk and jazz with the original songs.
