Yell & Ice is a collection of remakes featuring collaborations with Why?, Dosh, Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade, Tunde Adebimpe of TVOTR, Markus Acher of the Notwist, and Chris Adams of Hood. This is a very abstract, low key hip hop record turned on its indie ends and sprinkled with heavy influences from disco to downtempo. An amazing DIY sound creates an underground basement-made-music-mood peppered by organic and synthesized styles, blended up and flattened out into wide reaching soundscapes. The mood is thick and sparse at the same time while lyrics describe heavy imagery. Beats transition easily from pop accessible to esoteric with active tension and perfect timing.
