When most people hear the word October, they immediately think of a specific place in time. For the few normal people who live in New York City, we think of seasons changing, weather becoming colder, bracing ourselves for Halloween night, and the cold winter that lies ahead. Some feel the presence of the air-sign Libra, and the justice, balance, and reason that the scale symbolizes. Then, of course, are those who are not like us at all. This is Oktober Zero.

Hailing from The Bronx, the NY-Rican born Oktober has seen, heard, and lived Hip Hop in its purest form. Using this knowledge of Hip Hop music and culture, Oktober paints vivid pictures through lyrics about himself and his environment, money, his peoples struggle, poverty, raw experience on the streets, run-ins with the law, issues in the home, political conspiracy, religion, drugs, and having sex with random women. With saying his share about society’s ills, Oktober’s solution is simple: be the Hop pirate, who knows no rules, laws, government, or boundaries, and aims to obtain fortune and prosperity at the end of his mission.

Though “zero” is the beginning of everything, Oktober the artist is no beginner. With a catalog of music material ranging from independently-released CD’s to professionally manufactured records with a variety of record labels, Oktober is one who knows no limits. Oktober has performed at countless venues in and around New York City, the Tri-State area, down the
East Coast, Mid-West, and beyond with excellent responses from fans, listeners, and tastemakers.

Oktober has taken his Hip Hop experience from the streetlight to the limelight, so keep your ears tuned, your fist closed, and your eyes open. Making a name for himself as one third of the shortlived New York crew 2 For 5 (with Ace Lover and Spear 1200) in the early 00’s, Oktober later pursued a solo career starting with the full length debut “Project: Building” in 2004 on Freshchest Records. This is the lead single off the album featuring “NYC” produced by Frequency b/w “Sounds Like Drama” produced by Freshchest Records owners JL and Johnny Cock.
