A trippy hip-hop duo coming straight outta Crooklyn, MCs Mr. Dead and Big Pat find inspiration in subject matter fueled in no small part by a variety of illicit chemical substances. Similarities to early-’90s rap duo New Kingdom abound, from the distinctively bizarre lyrical approach to the production of former New Kingdom knob-twiddler Scott Harding (aka Scotty Hard) on the furiously freaky “Create and Divide.” The production by BIMOS on the majority of the album’s tracks is a little too underground (i.e. muddy and repetitive) to hit the big time, but the duo’s sharp rhymes and unique lyrical flows show enormous potential.
