Defcon is an Emcee/Producer Hip-Hop duo comprised of Subtex and Jipeto. The music embodies a unique style of Golden era hip-hop and early 90’s influence, mixed with a 2010 revolutionary flair. Originally natives of Vermont, the duo has resided in Boston, MA for the past 5 years and have since shared the stage with hip-hop greats including Jedi Mind Tricks, Sabac Red, Reef The Lost Cauze, Devin Da Dude, Large Professor, Canibus and many others.

Music has been the focus for both Subtex and Jipeto for the past 10 years. The two artists, who share similar sights and views beyond the hip-hop culture of today, linked up nearly three years ago and combined their efforts to produce their self-titled debut album, released in August 2008 on their independent label, Tactical Records. The disc featured New York City’s hip-hop living legend, C-Rayz Walz and the distinctive voice of Reggaeton artist, Koki-Man.

Defcon continues to work everyday, building on their strengths and weaknesses, as they continue to produce hip-hop music that’s true to their ears. Next in line for release is the duo’s 2nd album, THE LOST GENERATION (April 2010) featuring C-Rayz Walz, Goretex, Leaf (UK), J The S, Koki-Man, The Locksmiths, Madness 2012 and Outwrite. The first single, ‘How You Feelin’, featured a collaboration with the underground Boston legend, Reks, and was also released as a video produced by Jesse Kreitzer for Illumine Productions. Equipped with an album capable of impacting the music industry, Defcon is poised and ready to change what you once knew.
