“Philly had a huge underground scene from 92-97 that largely went unnoticed, however, produced some very awesome records. The major labels didn’t start coming to scoop up the talent until 97-98 when Beans, Eve, Ram Squad and a few others started getting signed.

One of these unnoticed artists was a group called D.O.D. Cosmic Kev used to play this record (Price Of Fame) on the radio and Kev also had another song by them on one of his mixtapes that I also have. They are the only songs I know of that they put out. A lot of these underground Philly artists put out one record, did a video, and then you never heard from them again. But the music lasted.

This is a CD of “Price Of Fame” (which is the gem of the disc) and also includes “Front Liners” and “Patriot Games” that I bought from Armand’s Records in Philadelphia in 1997. I had this song recorded off the radio and when I saw the CD in the store, I jumped on it.” – Greg.
