BIZ MARKIE’s inclination toward juvenile humor and his fondness for goofy, tuneless, half-sung choruses camouflaged his true talents as a freestyle rhymer. The Biz may not have been able to translate his wild rhyming talents to tape, but what he did record was worthwhile in its own way.

As a member of Brand Nubian, SADAT X was one of the key MCs whose messages were inspired by the Five Percent Nation. Two years after Brand Nubian’s third album, “Everything Is Everything”, he made his solo debut with “Wild Cowboys”, which built on his lyrical reputation on top of tough, jazz-inflected arrangements.
