’89-’91 is perhaps my favorite “era” in Hip Hop. Throughout that time, and the entirety of the 80s and 90s, I wrote and recorded a seemingly endless amount of songs…but never officially released anything. But, It was in the late 80s when I first started trying to realize that goal, primarily by seeking record deals, both locally and nationally, but despite interest and offers, nothing ever materialized. And for whatever reason, I never pursued releasing an album on my own, even though I had people doing it around me, and for the most part I had the resources and basic know of how to do so. So, this album is putting the benefit of hindsight to use, a conceptual album that is basically what it would sound like if I could time travel back to that era and make an album fitting for the time, but with all the information, tools and skill sets I have acquired and/or fine-tuned since then.
