D.J. Afrika Bambaataa – Death Mix (CD Reissue) (1983-1997) (FLAC + 320 kbps)
Recorded live at James Monroe High School in the Bronx, ‘Death Mix’ has become one of the most sort after records in the history of hip-hop. Released on the Paul Winley label in the early eighties it has gained cult status amongst deejays and record collectors alike. Even the artwork has been aped for DJ Shadow’s Q-Bert megamix on MoWax and countless mix CD’s have cloned the distinctive style. Death Mix is seen as one of the first ever mix sessions and while some of the recording may seem primitive to today’s Pro Tools and Serato users you’ll be hard pushed to find anything with as much energy and atmosphere.
