Spotrunnaz was the Swedish hip-hop duo from Malmo, formed in the summer of 1994, consisting of emcees Mike Mekanik (Miki Asante) and Moe Sak-1-Da (Marten Sakwanda). The group made their debut in 1998 on the hip-hop compilation “Sidewalk Headliners”, which led to them getting a deal,releasing their first 12″ vinyl single “Young Cats” which was followed by “Maintain”.

Spotrunnaz’ debut album “X-Marks The Spot” in 2000 got good reviews, included singles “The Verdict” and “The Uh-Uh”, and featured trademark production by BreakMecanix. “The Spotlight” in 2002, led by singles “Building” and “Mr. Mista” became the duo’s second and final album. Again produced by BreakMecanix, the album featured guest appearances from Timbuktu, Swing, George Cole, and more.
