Realigy – Southern Slang (CD) (2004) (FLAC + 320 kbps)
Realigy MEANS: Straightforward, no curves, no gimmicks, no games, no jokes; a realist – derivative of reality – commanding all ears as a performer. If you don’t move he isn’t satisfied, so he is likely to move you. Realigy has been known for the better part of his 25 years as Gregory C. Wylie. A native Charlottean, born and bred, he has seen and experienced first hand much of the underbelly of Charlotte, the so called Queen City. Misguided and challenged in his youth, Realigy made many mistakes, but quickly realized the path he was on was not one of success and fulfillment. He chose instead to pour these experiences and his emerging drive into what now fuels his craft, the rap flow. For the past six years, Realigy has showcased his talents at venues spanning the Southeast region. He has been well received in the Big Apple as well and has appeared live at some of New York City’s hottest clubs including The China Club, Eugenes, Cream and The Caribbean Club in the Bronx. In November 2003 Realigy was showcased at the world famous Madison Square Gardenby the New York International Music Festival. Other east coast venues include Club Intelect (MD), Time (VA), Club Experience (DE), Club H2O (NC – 1st Place one Mic Monday), Coca-Cola Jamfest 2003 (NC- 1st Place) and National Music Conference 2003 (MD – 2nd Place). In addition, Realigy has collaborated with several artists to produce various soundtracks. Calvin Richardson and Realigy produced and wrote a song for the ‘Deliver Us From Eva’ soundtrack which was a catalyst for L.L. Cool J’s work. Recently, Calvin was in the Charlotte vicinity scouting up and coming talent and asked Realigy to perform at his homecoming event. Also, Realigy was in Manhattan (in-studio) with hip-hop pioneer frontman of Gangster Legendary Guru-Baldheadslick himself. Together they recorded a revised version of a previously recorded song in which the Guru removed an artist off the song and placed Realigy’S vocals on the track. Of this experience, the Guru stated that ‘He’s got a gorilla pimp flow and the presence of a storm waiting to happen.’ Realigy’s debut album, Southern Slang, was released in the Summer of 2004 under the independent label KATzCITY Records. He is also a contributing artist with a song from his debut album ‘Welcome to Crunkville’ on the D.M. and Ichiban Records Compilation CD ‘Crunk Mix’ available nationwide. Currently, he is working on a project with a former American Idol contestant. According to Rob Feldman, President of KATzCITY, ‘I am confident that Realigy’s talent will be known and that he will be the one to put Charlotte on the map. No doubt he is the reason I started in this business and I and our entire team are committed to taking him all the way.’ When asked what he thought the future holds for him Realigy had this to say ‘My music is a whole new movement from a territory unknown. I am Charlotte’s streets, a home grown Queen City boy. If it isn’t Charlotte’s turn, I’ll make it our turn.’
