An installment in the Red Hot Organization’s series of multi-artists compilations where all the proceeds are directed to the fight against AIDS, America Is Dying Slowly features several of the hottest hip-hop stars of the mid-’90s, including the Wu-Tang Clan, Coolio, Pete Rock, Mobb Deep, the Lost Boyz, Eightball & MJG, and Goodie Mob. Although the compilation is slightly uneven, it is filled with first-rate material, making it a wortwhile purchase for most dedicated hip-hop fans.
