Been some time since i posted my last UK hip-hop up… OK, im not 100% percent sure if they UK. Blue Chip definitely was known as UK based label, but they had some US artists under their wing. Well, if u have some info, please let me know. Album is dope!

Instrumental hip hop/electro project of Mark Archer and Dean Meredith in 1988-1989, with Chris Peat and Andy Meecham as part-time keyboarders. Parallel to this, Archer and Meredith started the techno group Bizarre Inc. in 1989. Bizarre Inc. later became the vehicle of Meredith and Meecham, when Archer and Peat had developed into Nexus 21 and then Altern 8

I bought a box of records off Blue Chip once. Turned out to be 5 x records in multiples of 10 each 🙁
I didn't like this album and soon got rid of them all. Been wanting to hear it again ever since!
    Thanks Janka.

Whoa, I've got this LP and I didn't know any of that history! I remember those rave groups well, so that's really interesting to know (notice the little acid house smiley face on the left of the front cover!). I'd also share your view that they're UK hip hop.

I've got their So Damn Tough 12″ too, and on the back cover is says that “Rythm Mode D are – Slick D and DJ Furious”, yet there's 4 of them on the album cover and given credit.

Was reminded of this LP earlier (and So Damn Funky in particular), when also playing Most Wanted – Calm Down. Top top stuff 🙂
